QWAQWA – ‘The success of the newly installed Maluti-A-Phofung council depends entirely on all stakeholders pulling together in the same direction’.

These were the words of the executive mayor Tjhopo Gilbert Mokotso, addressing different interfaith delegates at a prayer session at Phuthaditjhaba multipurpose, which was organised by Maluti a Phofung moral regeneration movement (MMRM) last week Thursday, to seek divine guidance for the Map council to come up with innovative ideas to lead the municipality and address persisting service delivery challenges and frustrations.

Mokotso said the council will only succeed in achieving its objectives in the next five years, by allowing leaders to lead and let residents come to the party by paying municipal services.

“We are faced with a challenge of ensuring that all residents get constant and reliable supply of electricity, clean water ready for consumption, safe roads, clean environment and local economic development. None of these will be achieved if we do not come together, not only as a coalition leadership, but as all political structures in the council,”  Mokotso said.

The special prayer session was led by prolific figures such as Revered Tledima Titus Hlalele of Uniting Reformed Church, Pastor Ndumo, Bishop Masopha Tsoenyane of Gilgal Church of God, among others.

Calling for divine guidance Maluti-a-Phofung coalition government.

Faith Movement chairperson, Bishop Thulo Mile said the coalition is in urgent need of divine guidance as they will experience huge inconsistencies characterized by divisions.

“Ours today is to call upon all political leaders and stakeholders including the community to cooperate and adopt a culture of morality and support the current leadership’s efforts to push back the forces of darkness and wickedness,” Mile said.
