QWAQWA – Cooperative Governance  and Traditional Affairs MEC Thembeni Nxangisa  has suspended  Tsietsi Motlokoa,  a councillor from Maluti a phofung local municipality for three months without pay, and  instructed him  to apologise  to  President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Nxangisa ‘s reaction stems from a recorded audio  clip circulating in social media in which a man claiming to be a councillor of Maluti-a-Phofung local municipality Tsietsi Motlokoa of Lusaka in QwaQwa, is hurling unprintable words against Ramaphosa, accusing him of firing Magashule.

“The councilor was suspended in line with sec 14(6)(a) on breach of code, the councilor is hereby suspended for a period of three months without salary,” said MEC Nxangisa in a statement .

Mohlakoana a councillor of a Ward 30 in Maluti -a- phofung  was also instructed to apologise to the President and His family , the community of South Africa and the Maluti-a-Phofung residents.

Nxangisa said after consulting with the councillor , the latter showed remorse of his conduct and utterances.

His suspension follows the statement issued on Tuesday , the Secretary of RTT Malefu Vilakazi, described the councillor’s behaviour as anarchic and needs to be investigated.

“This behaviour is going to be investigated; the organisation cannot be reduced to a playground for anarchic and ill-disciplined behaviour. Upon conclusion of the investigation, we will ensure that this tendency is reprimanded and corrective measures are sought to put it to an end. Any behaviour that threatens the unity of our movement should not be tolerated, as it borders on desecrating our founding principles.”

Vilakazi further appealed to members of the ANC in Thabo Mofutsanyana region to exercise caution and disassociate with divisive tendencies that threaten the unity of the movement.
