QWAQWA- Recently resigned Economic Freedom Fighters ( EFF) councillor in the troubled Maluti A Phofung local municipality Sharon Mkhwanazi and African National Congress (ANC) Pulane Makae have announced their new political home joining African Content Movement.

ACM president and former SABC Chief Operating Officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng officially welcomed them in a ceremony held at Tiisetso primary school on Saturday, 27 June 2026.

Motsoeneng described the occasion as a special moment as he officially welcomed former councillors and their supporters into his party.

He said their decision to join his movement is a clear indication of growing dissatisfaction with the leadership in Maluti-a-Phofung municipality, alleging that years of corruption and poor service delivery had left residents frustrated.

“Today is a special day for me as we officially welcome these councillors and their supporters into our party. The ANC and MAP16 have destroyed the Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality through corruption and poor service delivery. Our people deserve honest leadership that will restore hope and deliver quality services to every community,” he said.

Hlaudi said his party has become a prominent political force in the Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality, attributing its growing support to residents who are dissatisfied with the current leadership.

He said the increasing number of members and the decision by former councillors from other political parties to join his movement demonstrate that the party is growing and is well-positioned to bring change to the municipality.

Hlaudi urged traditional leaders to accept gifts, including cattle and luxury vehicles, they offered by ANC leader and remove them in power through vote.
