WINBURG – A 21-year-old man from Makeleketla, Winburg, was brutally stabbed to death, allegedly by his brother, following a heated argument over a phone charger on Monday, 27 October.
Free State police spokesperson Sergeant Palesa Thabana said officers were called to the scene at around 3:00 pm, where they found the victim lying motionless inside the house with multiple stab wounds.
“The victim sustained stab wounds to the mouth, chest and shoulder, allegedly inflicted during an argument over a phone charger,” Thabana said.
Two knives were recovered at the scene. Police later arrested the suspect, a 32-year-old man believed to be the victim’s brother, after he initially fled.
He is expected to appear in the Winburg Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder.
