Dr Nandipa Magudumana will remain in custody after her bail application was denied by Bloemfontein’s Magistrate Estelle de Lange ruling that she is a fight risk.
Magudumana who faces several charges that include assisting her boy friend Thabo Bester to escape from Mangaung Correctional services will be back in court on October 11,2023 alongside her other co accused.

Her co-accused are Senohe Matsoara, Zolile Sekeleni, Teboho Lipholo, Natasha Jansen, Joel Makhetha, Thabo Bester Buti Masulekela, Tieho Makhotsa, Moeketsi Ramalula and Thabang Mier.
Denying Magudumana bail, Lange concurred with the state that Magudumana is a flight risk.

“Applicant is fighting risk and no bail conditions assist. I find that she did not satisfy the court that she be released on bail.”

Magistrate also dismissed evidence by Magudumana that she was abducted to Tanzania.

“When she left, she knew she would not come back. The evidence points that she left the country voluntarily. I find she is a flight risk, and there are no bail conditions to limit this.
