QWAQWA – Police in Phuthaditjhaba are searching for three suspects following an early-morning ATM bombing at Industrial 2 fuel garage on Tuesday, 2 September.
According to police, the suspects, one of whom was armed with a firearm, robbed two cellphones from a security guard and a petrol attendant before a loud explosion was heard from the ATM. It is not yet known whether any money was taken.
“No one was injured during the incident, and a case of business robbery is being investigated,” said police spokesperson Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring.
Police have appealed to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspects to contact the Phuthaditjhaba police station.
