QWAQWA – A 28-year old woman who is charged with raping a teenage boy has been remanded in custody until September 18, 2023, when she will be applying for bail.
This after a brief appearance at Tseseng magistrate court on Monday September 11, 2023.
According to police spokesperson in Thabo Mofutsanyana district Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring, the suspect who cannot be named because of her minor children is alleged to have called a 14-year-old boy to her house at around 12:30 hours on September 1, 2023 while playing on the street.
“On his arrival she undressed and allegedly raped him and then gave him money to silence him. But this did not work as, on arrival at home, he related the incident to his mother who immediately reported the matter to the police.”
He said the victim was taken for a medical examination and on September 8, 2023 the woman was arrested.
Meanwhile in Ficksburg, a 59-year old man was expected in court on September 13, 2023 for raping his teenage niece in 2018, resulting in the birth of baby girl who is now one year old.
According to police reports, the uncle had slept with his niece several times and she was scared to report the matter, as she feared being thrown out on the streets. She has lost both her parents.
