QWAQWA – The group of women who took part in a naked hike to a secret location last Friday have described the experience as ‘refreshing’.

Women came all the way from Cape Town, Pretoria, Krugersdorp and Durban to experience hiking in the nude as a personal development training meant to transform their lives, in the mountains of Maluti-a-Phofung local municipality.

The women were treated to an option of fire walking for those brave enough to be kissed by fire and the night was spent in a tented camp under the beautiful night sky surrounded by the Maluti mountains.

One of the participants, Thakane Morapeli of Namahadi village had this to say: “The experience of walking on fire was amazing; I couldn’t believe I did that.”

The hike was led by life coach Nozipho Hoohlo, who gave the ladies a few words of encouragement before embarking on the naked journey. All the women were moved by the experience and said that this is how it feels like to be human.

“My role as a life coach is to be a guide,” Hoohlo said.

Sharing her experience, another woman who participated in the naked hike, Itumeleng Chefter said: “society has taught us to have an unrealistic view of beauty, but today on this naked hike I see true beauty. Women are beautiful in all their different shapes and sizes. I see what men appreciate about us.”

Most of the women reiterated that self-love is important because women always fall victim to abuse by men.

Fanafikile Lephakha, a life coach from Refining Potential Training collaborated with Hoohlo (a life coach from Dynamic Transformations) to bring this experience to the group of 21 women who were willing to embark on a personal journey of healing and transformation.
