RAISING SOUTH AFRICAN FLAG, AN OLYMPIC STAR FROM QWAQWA

QWAQWA – Putting up posters on poles in support of an Olympic Athlete who comes from the humble community of Elite in QwaQwa.

Tlotliso Leotlela will be running the 100m race and is part of the relay race team in the 2020/21 Olympics that are being held in Tokyo, Japan this July. This Saturday sees this young man grace our television screens to compete in Athletics on a global stage. His sister Tshepang Leotlela and a homeboy who likes to be known as Freeze Ink have started putting up posters of him in the community where he grew up called, Elite. His friend has asked the community to help support this Olympic athlete as he is representing the whole of South Africa on a global stage not just his community.

“It is an honour to have him come from the humble community of QwaQwa that has been predominantly known for its high levels of unemployment and poverty. Not a lot of community members know that Tlotliso is from Elite,” says Freeze Ink, homeboy and close friend.

Supporting this campaign has the community of Elite very excited, social media is abuzz with community members that are willing to have posters pasted on their cars in support of this young star. Tokelo Moloi a fellow ‘Elitian’ as the community members affectionately call themselves, is very proud of Tlotliso and has put a poster on his car. Tshepang  says that she is very proud of her brother that is why she and Freeze Ink started this campaign to let the people of QwaQwa know that his brother is flying the flag high not only for the community of Elite but for South Africa as a whole.
