QWAQWA- Eighteen-year old Kwandiswa  Masibonge Xaba,  a first year student at the University of Free State Qwaqwa Campus who was reported missing from June 4, 2022 has been found in Tembisa Gauteng at her new boyfriend’s place on July 17 2022..

Police say her new boyfriend who was with her, saw posts on social media indicating that she was reported missing and called warrant officer Thipa Selepe to tell him that he was with her in Tembisa.

“On July 17 2022, Selepe and Xaba’s parents drove to Tembisa and found her. They brought her back home to Newcastle. She was still wearing same clothes she was wearing when she was last seen. She did not report any crime or abuse that was committed against her,” police said in a statement.

Warrant officer Selepe, who was assigned to investigate and find Xaba, started by following up on leads from her university friends, which led to him to Maluti Crescent Mall in Phuthaditjhaba.

“CCTV footage obtained from the mall showed Xaba getting into a taxi to Standerton in Mpumalanga. The investigator traced her through cellphone records to locate where she could be. On June 9 2022 he drove to Standerton where she was traced through a cellphone tower but was not found.”

After the investigator was assisted by taxi drivers and their commuters, he followed up on new information to Emalenhle and Bergesford where she was seen in the company of unknown people but could not be found in both places but later was found at her new boyfriend ‘s place in Tembisa.
