QWAQWA – Despite suffering a second consecutive defeat in the QwaQwa Ladies League, Makhalaneng Ambassadors Ladies FC remain confident they can turn their season around and mount a serious title challenge.
Ambassadors Ladies FC went down 2-1 to Junior Birds Ladies FC in a fast-paced and highly competitive encounter played at Koali Sports Ground on Sunday, June 21.
Junior Birds secured all three points after capitalising on key chances in a match that saw both sides create numerous scoring opportunities but struggle to convert them.
The defeat leaves Ambassadors in sixth position on the league standings, following an identical 2-1 loss to Mangaung Ajax Ladies in their season opener.
Despite the disappointing start, head coach Buti Mofokeng remains optimistic that his side can quickly recover and return to winning ways.
“We are still very much in the race. It is still early in the season and there is plenty of football left to play,” said Mofokeng.
“We know where we made mistakes and we will go back to the drawing board to correct them. The players are working hard and I am confident we can bounce back in our next match.”
Ambassadors will now shift their focus to a crucial clash against Mkabandeli Ladies FC, where they will be eager to secure their first victory of the campaign and reignite their league ambitions.
With the season still in its early stages, the team believes a strong response in the coming fixtures could quickly change its fortunes and propel it back into contention.
