QWAQWA – Angry community members from Khoseng section at Monontsha Village protested outside the Tseki magistrate court on Tuesday 16 September, singing, chanting and holding placards during the brief first court appearance of Teboho Pitso 38, accused of murder and rape of one family.

Pitso who appeared in chambers wearing a brown leather jacket looking confused, was arrested following police swift response after he allegedly murdered a 67 year old man and raped his 85 year old mother on Sunday 14 September 2025.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring Pitso was heard by the elderly woman when he broke into her house and immediately called her son for help.

However the 67 year old son was confronted by the accused, who allegedly overpowered and fatally stabbed him multiple times with a sharp object and died instantly at the scene.

“It is further alleged that the suspect then turned on the elderly woman and raped her our members worked together and traced him till the early hours of Monday morning,” said Mophiring.

The furious community members has called on the court not to grant Pitso bail and that he be sentenced to life term imprisonment for each crime.

Mapharela Mophiring told The Guard Newspaper that as community members they fear for their safety if he is granted bail.

“We really don’t know what will be his intentions if he is released , who will be next ? what will happen to the safety of our parents,” said Mapharela.

The community said they also demand that the the family members of Pitso should leave the village.

The matter has been postponed to Monday 22 September for formal bail application.
