KESTELL– From the small sleepy town of Kestell in the Maluti-a-Phofung local municipality to being Miss South Africa contestant.

This all nut sums up the journey of Tshegofatso Molefe, who has made it to the top 30 of the 2021 instalment of the famous beauty pageant.

The 26-year old young slim beauty who holds an LLB and a Masters in Advanced Criminal Justice from the University of Kwazulu Natal will join 29 others in the race to book their spot in the top 10 for this year’s illustrious beauty pageant.

She told The Guard, that one of the many reasons she chose to take part in the pageant was to represent her entire province as a solid, growing and relatable young woman who goes after what her heart desires, sets goals for herself and works hard to achieve them.

“The main determination to enter this beauty pageant was because I believe the experiences in my life had made me a better person and prepared me to become a woman of integrity, honesty and compassion.”

Tshegofatso Molefe.

Tshegofatso said she still believed in the significance of beauty pageants as they had advanced to ensure women defined what beauty is in their own perspective, and share it with the world on a great platform.

She said she was filled with gratitude when she made it to the top 30.

“Being in the top 30 gives me the courage to bring difficult conversations to the table and inspire change in behavior while enabling everyone to participate in changing their communities and the country.

“I pursued a career in law because I hoped my qualification would help me serve and protect society, and to become a young state attorney of the high court. Going forward, I’d really appreciate for people of the Free State to continue with the support and vote for me so that I can get to the top 10,” she concluded.

On August 03, the 30 contestants will strut their stuff as they seek to impress the panel of judges which will include former Miss South Africa titleholders like Shudufhadzo Musida and Tanaryn Green.

The public is the fifth judge in selecting the top 10 finalists, and they up to August 03 to vote for their favourite contestants.
