Farm worker killed, wife raped and stabbed in Heilbron attack

HEILBRON – A farm worker was shot and killed while his wife is recovering in hospital after being raped and stabbed during a brutal farm attack in the early hours of Saturday, 1 November 2025, in Heilbron.

Police spokesperson Captain Loraine Earle confirmed that thirteen suspects, including two women, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

“So far, 13 suspects have been arrested after the brutal farm attack in the community of Heilbron early on Saturday morning. A foreign worker was shot and killed and his wife was assaulted and stabbed. She is receiving medical treatment in hospital,” said Earle.

Earle said police, with the assistance of the local farming community and private security, managed to trace and arrest the suspects within hours.

During the arrests, police recovered 22 stolen sheep, a firearm and a minibus believed to have been used in the attack.

The suspects are expected to appear in court soon on charges of murder, attempted murder, rape, robbery and stock theft.Police investigations are ongoing.
