Community activist, Kaizer Chiefs supporter laid to rest!

Fellow Kaizer Chiefs supporters bidding final farewell to Malefane Sekoboto.

QWAQWA- Family, friends, politicians, community members, soccer fans and Kaizer Chiefs supporters have bid farewell to a well-known loving soccer fan and loyal Kaizer Chiefs supporter Malefane Sekoboto(66) at a ceremony held at Bluegumbosch multipurpose hall on Saturday, 13 December.

Sekoboto’s died mysteriously after suffering from what is believed to be a flue.

He was known as a highly argumentative Kaizer Chiefs supporter who always defended the team, even when it was underperforming in the Premier Soccer League.

The Harrismith Kaizer Chiefs branch member also a father to his children, was described by her daughter Lerato Sekoboto as a caring and loving father.

Lerato who is still saddened and shocked by his death told mourners that her father had a short illness complaining about flue which led to him being admitted at Mofumahadi Manapo regional hospital.

“His passing has left an immeasurable void in our family and the wider community. We are deeply heartbroken. He will always be remembered for his warm spirit, kindness, and friendly nature,” said Lerato.

Kaizer Chiefs chairperson in the Thabo Mofutsanyana region, Metsing Mphakathe, described him as a strong organizer who established and launched many branches.

Meanwhile Maluti A Phofung SARKO leader Napo Letlala describing Sekoboto as a key member of the provincial organizing team, who always strived for community’s right to land.”

He was a leader who understood the importance of land for our people, “said Letlala.
