Chairperson of the disciplinary board on financial misconduct municipal manager’s office

Suitable candidates are hereby invited to serve as the Chairperson for the Disciplinary Board for Financial Misconduct of Maluti –A-Phofung Local Municipality in terms of the provisions of the Local Government Municipal Finance Management Act No. 56 Section 175 of 2003.

Requirements: A relevant Degree in Law, Financial management, Accounting and Auditing. Previous experience on a similar position will serve as an advantage. Must possess strong and dynamic leadership skills. Must have a sound knowledge of legislation applicable to local government. Analytical reasoning ability. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities: Receiving and investigating alleged acts of financial misconduct. Conducting preliminary investigation based on reports received within the regulated time frames. Recommendation of full investigation process where applicable. Advising council on disciplinary steps to be followed.

Remuneration: The successful candidate will be remunerated in accordance with the remuneration of Non-Official Members: Commissions and committees of Inquiry, and Audit Committees.

Term of office: Three years period renewable at the discretion of the council.

Canvassing in respect of this position will lead to disqualification of the application of the applicant. If you have not received any correspondence from the municipality within 6 weeks after the closing date of this advertisement, you should consider your application unsuccessful. The municipality reserves the right not to make an appointment and no correspondence will be entered into. Successful candidates may be subjected to a screening and/or security clearance process.
