EFF wins by elections in Setsoto local municipality

QWAQWA – Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)’s provincial secretary Bosanku Msimanga has attributed their win of ward eight ‘s Setsoto local municipality from Setsoto Service delivery Forum (SSDF) to visibility and resonating with local communities.
Msimamga said this during telephonical interview with this publication.


“Our moral was never dampened because of our performance in the national and provincial local elections. We have been intact. It is just that we are fighting system as well as media. We derive our strength from our community we are visible in our local communities and have implemented policies such as adopt a school or crèche . Our win is a build up to the coming local government elections,” he said.


Based in a small township of Clocolan (Hlohlolwane) in the Setsoto local municipality in Thabo Mofutsanyana district EFF secured 55 percent, NC and SSDF got
Ward 8 (Hlohlolwane Ext 6 Clocolan) Setsoto, Thabo Mofutsanyane EFF 1200 against ANC’s 700 and 286 SSDF respectively.


Other small political parties that contested include COPE and IFP which each got one percent.
 Hlohlowane is a township just north of the town of Clocolan. Clocolan is close to the Lesotho border and near the towns of Ficksburg and Marquard. The area is known for its cherry, asparagus and maize farms. The seat of Setsoto is Ficksburg. Other towns in the municipality include Senekal.
