QWAQWA – Phuthaditjhaba-born Lawrence Mothapo is a talented netball coach with lots of experience under his belt. He said he has been in the game since his high school days before joining the Saps regime in 1994.
In an exclusive interview with this publication, Mothapo said: “My passion for netball began while I was still a teenager, and I have developed a great love for it ever since. I was trained by the best in the game such as the late Mamojela Pallo and Sister Mmotso, who would rope us in as back up whenever there were shortage of players”.
He is now one of Qwaqwa’s most eminent sons who are making a huge impact in the netball game within Thabo Mofutsanyana district.
Having been an active participant in the game, he has coached Saps netball club in highly competitive games and took them to participate in SADC regional competitions to play against neighbouring countries like Zimbabwe, Namibia and Lesotho.
He has been engaged to assist Maluti Tvet college Netball club for both males and females.
“I was taught to believe that netball is one of the easiest sports one can play, and a great sport where you can learn about and develop fellowship with others,” said Mothapo.
