BIG BREAK FOR DISADAVANTAGED CHILDREN

BOTSHABELO-A good Samaritan in the name of  Botshabelo Water fall Movement has put smiles on the faces of  disadvantaged children from Ditholoana , Batjha and Nteboheng primary schools.

Learners received 50 pair of shoes per school donated to them by the movement on Monday, 31 May 2021.06.03

“The aim is to donate to ten schools in Botshabelo. We started with the three because they were quick to respond to us with a list of learners who needed the school shoes, so we thought it is best to start with them as winter is already here,” Jerry Makau  spokesperson said.

 He added that they also wanted to donate jerseys for winter but they viewed the need for shoes as a bigger issue.

He said they were able to buy the shoes with the money they had raised at a drag race event held at Thaba Nchu Airport on 1 May 2021. “The charity drag race was about people coming and having fun, but the main purpose was to raise money. At the end of the day we had fulfilled the main purpose of the day but there were still individuals after the event who were able to donate more shoes.”

Makau said the reason behind the movement is to try and sort out social issues people experience within the community. “We are a group of friends from the same community trying to help out where we can as a group, because if we are united we can reach greater heights.
