FS Legislature Speaker Zanele Sifuba.

Addressing the media on preparations on February 24,Sifuba said the sitting of the legislature will comprise of 17 members who will be in the Chamber,  two members of the table assistance, and   24 guests.

“Only 8 media personnel with 9 cameras, will be accommodated inside the Chamber, mainly for technical set up. All 30 media houses will be provided with the link to access the sitting on various digital platforms. Only 16 journalists will be granted an opportunity to form part of the post-SOPA media briefing with the Speaker and the Premier,” Sifuba disclosed.

She said the use of paper circulation by the directorate has been reduced by about 70% as one of the measures taken to adhere to covid-19 regulation and avoid further spread of pandemic.

“This means that the chances of contracting Covid-19 through the exchange of paper has been duly minimised.”

Sifuba said the official opening of the legislature is one such important event where the Premier, as the Head of the Provincial Government stands to report back to the people.

“ This is a mandate we remain committed to, respect and to uphold.”
