BETHLEHEM – The 5th Annual Thabo Mofutsanyana Speaker’s Easter Games delivered a spectacular football showcase at Bohlokong Stadium, where passionate supporters filled the stands over a vibrant three-day Easter weekend.

Hosted by Thabo Mofutsanyana District Municipality ( TMDM) Speaker, Thabo Mokoena, in partnership with the Bethlehem Masters League (BML), the tournament once again proved to be a unifying celebration of sport, community, and culture.

The atmosphere was electric, with singing, dancing, and unwavering support echoing throughout the stadium as teams battled for glory.

The competition featured a strong line-up of qualifying teams, including Free State Stars, Legend 45 Sport Club, M.J Masters, Hong Kong Masters, Poho Di Matla, Qpro FC, Royal Eagles Football Club, Super Eagles, Two 4 Joy, Spiyoyo Football Club, Eskom F.C, BHM Aces, Old School Cardinals, Giants Masters, Salt & Pepper FC, and FC Cardinals Masters.

By Day 3, the tournament had reached its highly anticipated semi-final stage, with Spiyoyo Football Club facing Hong Kong Masters, while Super Eagles went head-to-head with FC Cardinals Masters.

The intensity on the pitch matched the energy in the stands, as supporters rallied behind their teams in a festival-like atmosphere.

Ultimately, Super Eagles emerged victorious, claiming the championship title after an exhilarating run throughout the tournament.

Speaker Thabo Mokoena expressed heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, organisers, teams, and supporters who contributed to the success of the event.

He praised the unity and spirit displayed, noting that the tournament continues to grow as a cornerstone of community engagement in the district.

The final day was also graced by TMDM Executive Mayor, Conny Msibi, and Free State Cogta MEC Saki Mokoena whose presence underscored the municipality’s commitment to supporting local sport and community development.

As the curtains closed on another successful edition, the packed Bohlokong Stadium stood as a testament to the tournament’s impact, bringing people together, creating lasting memories, and strengthening community pride through the beautiful game.
