Leifo Iziko Combined School’s hard-fought win in this prestigious tournament reflects their dedication and talent, marking them as a force to be reckoned with in youth netball. The Free State Education MEC Dr Mamiki Julia Maboya, visited the school on Tuesday November 19 2024 as to wish the learners and the team the best of luck.

MEC Maboya thanked the principal of the school, Isaac Moloi, coach of the team Molebatsi Mofokeng, SMT members, the School Governing Body (SGB), parents and the entire community for the support they gave to the team. She said they are proud of the school as the Free State Government and they will do everything in their power to support the team.

“We must work together to ensure that this team brings home the winners’ trophy. We know they will make us proud, they will win and sweep aside every team they come up against. We give them moral support and we also gave them jerseys and other stuff so that they don’t struggle where they will be. Even when they touch down at the airport from Singapore, we will be waiting for them, to celebrate the glory with them,” Maboya concluded.

Nketoana netball team is ready to represent the country in Singapore.

For his part, coach Molebatsi said they are very proud and happy for the team. He further said these are the results of hard work and dedication.

“Our aim is to make South Africa proud and I know we will. We will beat all teams that will play against us in Singapore. Representing South Africa is a win by its own. These are the results of the hard work that we put in after we finished second last year. We appreciate the support and love of the parents, community of Reitz and South Africa as a whole.” Coach Molebatsi.

The Netball team got donations from Sanlam, Nketoana local municipality, Motsepe foundation, Thabo Mofutsanyaba District Municipality, and Free State Department of Education.
