Grassland beats Clever Girls on their home ground

QWAQWA – Grassland ladies football club all the way from Bloemfontein beats Qwaqwa’s Clever Girls ladies football club during their match at Charles Mopeli stadium this Sunday on August 28.


This was a very competitive match that showed that both teams where in it to win it. Grassland which is planning to play in the playoffs went all out to score since the first whistle. Their first goal was scored ten minutes into the game by Tower and within minutes she increased the tally to two.

Clever Girls came back and scored one to make the score 1 – 2, with Grassland leading. Grassland scored another goal through Tower again, but the linesman did not agree with the referee. With that, the visitors pushed for more goals and made it 3 – 1 before half time.


In the second half Grassland took total control of the match, but wasted many golden opportunities. The score should have been 10 – 1. Susan scored in the scored in the second half two goals and Tower another one to make the final score 6 – 1, away, which puts Grassland ladies in second spot with two home games left, which they will collect maximum points against Inter Madrid ladies from Bloemfontein and UGU FC from Virginia. Grassland ladies players did extremely well and stayed focused and disciplined throughout the game.
