KESTELL – The Free State police have opened an inquest docket after the body of a man, identified as a well-known businessman from Phuthaditjhaba, was discovered with a gunshot wound to his chest at his home in Kestell on the night of Thursday, 10 April.
The deceased was a well-known businessman who dealt in the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages at a bottle store and place of entertainment near the Uniting Fora church.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring, officers were called to a house in Kestell where they discovered the body of the businessman in the garage of his residence. “He was found with a stab wound to the chest,” Mophiring confirmed.
He added: “At this stage, we are investigating an inquest, as there are no signs or evidence at the scene to suggest that he was attacked or murdered.”
Police investigations are ongoing.
