QWAQWA – In a dazzling celebration of talent and community spirit, Qwaqwa Radio’s brightest star, Phalli Mohapi, claimed the coveted Presenter of the Year title for an extraordinary seventh consecutive year at the annual Qwaqwa Radio Awards.
The prestigious ceremony was held on 12 April at the Bluegumbosch Multipurpose Centre, bringing together radio personalities, station management, sponsors, and devoted listeners for a night of recognition and appreciation.
A seasoned presenter with 22 years of service, Mohapi was visibly moved as he thanked the community for their continued support through the R2 voting initiative.
“This is my seventh award in 22 years at this radio station. To the Qwaqwa Radio listeners, thank you for your support. As a presenter, I will continue to do my best,” he said, voice brimming with emotion.
Standing beside him throughout his journey is his wife, Mponeng Mohapi, who credited the victory to divine grace and the unwavering support of listeners.
“Thank you to the listeners who voted. It’s through the grace of God, not our intelligence. We are happy as a family because of my husband’s achievement and the support we give him,” she shared. Mponeng is widely regarded as the quiet force behind Mohapi’s continued success.
Tebello Mosala, station manager of Qwaqwa Radio, praised Mohapi’s remarkable run while urging fellow presenters to remain inspired.
“We are achieving what we want. Our presenter, Phalli Mohapi, has been winning this award for seven years in a row. I hope this doesn’t discourage others, but rather motivates them to aim higher,” she said.
Award winners across various categories received prizes including household appliances and grocery and hardware vouchers, generously donated by local businesses.

With passionate presenters and a shared commitment to excellence, the future of Qwaqwa Radio continues to shine—much like its longest-standing star, Phalli Mohapi.
