Missing father and children tried to set himself alight

QWAQWA- Police in Phuthaditjhaba are seeking community assistance to trace the whereabouts of father who went missing together with his two ,a boy and a girl.
According to police statement the missing father who allegedly tried to set himself alight but he was rescued by his family ,took his children along and never return.

It is alleged that on Friday, 21 October 2023 at about 20:15 by Ms Matlakala Precious Mokoena 31 years old of Disaster Park section of Bluegumbosch was at her sister’s place at Bluegumbosch when her husband, Mofokeng Tshepo arrived and they got into an argument.
He then left after the argument together with their two children Lehakwe eight years old and Hopolang six a girl and a boy respectively.

“It’s further alleged that he threatened to end their lives and set himself alight with matches but the fire was put off. It was discovered that he poured paraffin on his body.
When realizing that he wasn’t injured, he ran away and his brother followed him but couldn’t find him.”

On Sunday, 22 October 2023 the family and community members went out to look for him at the direction of Seotlong Village and nearby donga but was nowhere to be found with both children.
The police also established a team that has started searching in dongas and amongst trees and bushy areas but all three weren’t found.
