Jumbos outshine Rock Stars

QWAQWA – Makeresemese Thabisi of Jumbos Netball Club in Qholaqhwe village helped her team sweep the three-match Rural Sports Development programme against the Rock Stars with a whopping 23-goal win in Makwane stream games at Qholaqhwe sports ground on Saturday.

The Jumbos won the match 23-10, after leading 7-3 at halftime courtesy of the duo of Thabisi and  Sibongile Radebe who made light work of their counterparts, as they led their team to a comfortable victory.

Nonetheless, the Rock Stars put on their best performance in second half, forcing the Qholaqhwe side into extra effort and ultimately going down by 10 goals to 23.

Jumbos head coach, Mohokare Ditaba said It was a tight match from start to finish. Speaking shortly after his team’s victory, he said “I’m very proud of the girls; it wasn’t an easy game. We had to apply all the planned tactics to the letter; that’s why we started like a house on fire”.

Jumbos will have to remain consistent as they will have to face The Rock Stars again on June 12 at Clubview sports ground.
