Zuma rejected in Qwaqwa

QWAQWA – A planned public address at the multipurpose hall in Phuthaditjaba by former president Jacob Zuma turned out to be a total fiasco as no one attended the event.

This forced Zuma to skip the address and head to Setsing Central Business District (CBD) for a walkabout after meeting the Bakoena Royal Household in Namahadi.

According to uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) political party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndlela the intention of this visit to Qwaqwa was meant for canvassing and recruiting membership for MK Party, but the most important part of this visit was to meet with the chiefs because they are the rightful owners of the land.

“We are here more so to meet with the traditional leaders, the rightful owners of the land who have been marginalized and overlooked by this government.

“We are here to discuss how to take back the land and give it back to the black people who are the natives,” Ndlela said.

The multipurpose hall was empty as community members did not show up to support MKP leader Zuma. This forced his entourage to head to the CBD this after spending some time at the Bakoena Royal Household addressing the traditional leaders about plans to get the land back to its ‘rightful owners’.

At the CBD Zuma’s entourage was met with mixed reactions from the crowd who were not aware of his visit. Some ululated with joy while others muttered comments of disgust and disdain at the audacity of such a visit when the community of MAP was ravaged by abject poverty under former the president’s leadership.
