MAP Municipal Manager remains in custody

QWA QWA – Maluti-a-phofung corruption accused municipal manger, Futhuli Patrick Mothamaha will remain in police custody until Friday 5 August for his formal bail application.

He appeared briefly today, 02 Tuesday before the Phuthaditjhaba magistrate’s court after he surrendered himself to the Hawks in Bethlehem police station after issuing his warrant of arrest last week Thursday, 28 July.

He was supposed to appear in Phuthaditjhaba magistrate court with his co-accused, Thabiso Skhosana and Dimakatso Skhosana who  were released on a one hundred and fifty thousand rand bail per person yesterday, 01 August.

His attorney, Makhosi Radebe told the court that he did not disappear as it was reported. He claims there were various important reasons why his client failed to appear in court yesterday.

Corruption accused Maluti-a-Phofung municipal manager Tseko Futhuli Mothamaha.

Mothamaha and the co-accused are accused of corruption and embezzling municipality money  estimated to fifty-seven million rand which is reported to have been irregularly paid to the security company, Kill Crime from May 2020.

Hawks spokesperson, Captain Christopher Singo, said more arrests of Maluti-a-Phofung local municipality officials are eminent. The case has been postponed until Friday this week.
